Life has an ability to suddenly throw oneself off balance by putting oneself into unplanned, unwarranted and sudden situations one then needs to deal with. And there are times, when the count of events is so huge that one gets overwhelmed with the omni-presence of such situations and there are high chances of breaking down at these moments. In addition, there are times when one is unable to take a firm decision on something and when presented with multiple options, one feels debilitated in choosing one. A lot of such options are spawned because one is not ready to face any encounter and does not want to find one in an uncomfortable situation. Such options if chosen doesn’t solve the problem, instead one is thrown into a more uncomfortable situation which is even more difficult to deal with. It is necessary to be to able to recognize such options and reject them outright while making a choice. Having been in such conditions myself, I realized that certain ways of looking at such events helps immensely in dealing with them effectively. There are two such ways that I have found useful and I want to write about them.

  • When presented with sudden, unprecedented, unavoidable and supposedly critical situations, it is better to look at it as it is, not as one would like it to be. Look within and look as deep as possible to find the true nature and truth of the event. Treat it as one of the problems one needs to solve instead of converting this into life-and-death situation which it actually isn’t. As a matter of fact, none of such situations are life-and-death ones but just a imagination our mind creates. Search or Looking within for the higher purpose for the emergence of such circumstances and once found, search and then focus on the right way to deal with it.
  • When dealing with difficult situations, one often encounters multiple options to deal with it. In order to choose the right one, one should microscopically evaluate each one. Each options is a aggregation of what one should dos and what one shouldn’t dos. When putting under the microscope, go ahead with each dos and check how will the situation pan out in each case. Then flip it and do the same. And compare the end result with the right thing to do. In addition, associate that with the end objective or purpose and see whether it gets achieved. This will help one sift out and reject the options that one is avoiding to face and also choose the ones which are truly aligned with what is right.
